Importing Images

A computer "image" is just a sequence of data bytes that is to be displayed in a way specific to the use implied by the file's extension.

Text,  PDF (Portable Document Format) Documents and JPG (Joint Photographic Group) pictures are all examples, although the way they each display is quite different.

This section discusses only the last of these, JPGs.

Computers may store drawings, illustrations, pictures, or photos may be stored in a number of other formats, such as PNG, TIFF, or SVG.

However only JPGs are used within JwC.

JwC images may be Maps, a Person's Photo, or a photograph of a page from Person's Medical Directive.

JwC images may also be incorporated into Reports, which can then optionally be printed or stored as Directives.

Means are provided to Export Images, but as yet, except for Medical Directives, no means have been provided to re-import them due to the complexity of determining each one's use.

If means are later provided this topic will be extended.
