About User Passwords

For highest security JwContactsUD DOES NOT Store User Passwords and cannot retrieve them for you!

When you create a new user account, the password you supply is stored as a one-way encrypted value.

When you attempt to re-enter that password, the app simply checks to see if the entry would produce the same encrypted result.

If you forget a user password there are only two possible resolutions:

a. If the forgotten password is for a secondary user, simply create another secondary user. The new user will NOT have access to the old one's private data, but could import it from a backup.

b. If the forgotten password is for the original user, reset ALL data as provided on the opening screen. This encurs total data loss unless you've previously backed up all data! Then re-create all users.

The point: ALWAYS BACKUP DATA YOU DO NOT WANT TO LOSE & MAKE SURE YOU KNOW YOUR USER PASSWORD!
